Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data OTT Buzzer collects, why we collect it, how we protect it, and the rights you have over it under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

Last updated: 17 May 2026

01Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how OTT Buzzer (“OTT Buzzer”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, shares and protects your personal data when you visit our website or purchase digital subscription products from us.

We act as a Data Fiduciary under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023(“DPDP Act”) and follow the Information Technology Act, 2000 and rules made under it. By using our website or placing an order, you (the “Data Principal” or “you”) confirm that you have read and understood this policy.

If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use our website or services.

02Information We Collect

We collect only the data we need to operate the store and deliver your orders:

  • Account information — your name, email address and phone number when you create an account or place an order.
  • Order and transaction information — the products you buy, order value, UPI transaction reference number (UTR) and payment status. We never see or store your UPI PIN, bank login credentials or full card details.
  • Communication data — messages, support tickets and queries you send us.
  • Device and usage data — IP address, browser type, device information, and pages visited, collected automatically.
  • Cookies and local storage — small files used to keep you signed in, remember your cart and understand how the site is used. See Cookies and Tracking.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive data such as financial account passwords, biometric data or health data.

03How We Use Your Information

We process your personal data for these specified purposes:

  • To create and manage your account.
  • To process your orders, verify payments and deliver digital subscription products.
  • To provide customer support and respond to your queries and grievances.
  • To send transactional messages such as order confirmations, delivery details and payment reminders.
  • To detect, prevent and investigate fraud, abuse and security incidents.
  • To improve our website, products and services.
  • To comply with applicable laws and respond to lawful requests from authorities.

We will not use your personal data for any new purpose without informing you and, where required, obtaining your consent. Marketing messages are sent only if you have opted in, and you may opt out at any time.

05Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar browser storage to:

  • keep you securely signed in to your account;
  • remember items in your cart and your preferences;
  • measure and improve site performance.

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may prevent parts of the website from working correctly.

06How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data. We share it only in limited circumstances:

  • Service providers (Data Processors) — trusted partners who help us run the business, such as hosting, database, payment and communication providers. They process data only on our instructions and under confidentiality obligations.
  • Legal and regulatory disclosure — where required by law, court order, or a lawful request from a government authority.
  • Business transfer — in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this policy continuing to apply.

Once you use a subscription on a third-party streaming platform, that platform’s own privacy policy will apply to your activity there.

07Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy — including order history, accounting, tax and legal compliance, and dispute resolution. When data is no longer required, we securely delete or anonymise it.

08How We Protect Your Data

We implement reasonable security safeguards to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or alteration. These include encrypted connections (SSL/TLS), access controls and secure infrastructure.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. In the event of a personal data breach, we will notify the affected users and the Data Protection Board of India as required under the DPDP Act.

09Your Rights as a Data Principal

Under the DPDP Act, you have the right to:

  • Access — request a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it is processed.
  • Correction and updating — request that inaccurate or incomplete data be corrected or completed.
  • Erasure — request deletion of your personal data where it is no longer required and retention is not mandated by law.
  • Withdraw consent — withdraw any consent you have previously given.
  • Grievance redressal — have your complaints addressed by us (see Grievance Redressal).
  • Nominate — nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@ottbuzzer.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

Our website and services are intended for users aged 18 years and above. We do not knowingly process the personal data of children without the verifiable consent of a parent or lawful guardian, and we do not undertake tracking, behavioural monitoring or targeted advertising directed at children. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.

11Third-Party Links and Platforms

Our website and the subscriptions we sell may give you access to third-party platforms such as streaming services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies separately.
